Portuguese midfielder Simao Sabrosa has admitted that former Brazilian striker, Rivaldo, has been a great inspiration to his career. “I had the chance to play with him in Barcelona for two years. He is a great example as a human being and as a professional. Rivaldo is a fantastic person,” he said.
On the subject of Cristiano Ronaldo and Portuguese players, he said : “For us Portuguese, we are proud to have a candidate for FIFA World Player of the Year. It is important for us – and for the people – to know that we have players of such quality.”
Simao knows that victory for Portugal against Brazil will motivate the team in the team’s current world cup qualifying campaign.
